Alexis is a Certified Medical Assistant who not only assists the providers but also provides translation to our Hispanic and Latin American patients. She came to our clinic as a student for her externship and was positively influenced by her experiences and co-workers during this time. She quickly became a part of our Health Services Center and has been here for over a year. She attended Garrett Academy of Technology from 2017 to 2020, completing her senior year at Stall High School, graduating in 2021. In May of 2022, she enrolled in Southeastern College where she completed their medical assisting program. She is currently researching schools and plans to continue her nursing education. She loves the work that she does and the positive impact that the Health Services Center has. She is a Charleston native and loves volunteering and giving back to the community. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, catching up on various series and traveling, as well as trying new places and activities. She says the best advice she has been given is “it’s okay to make mistakes, to have bad days, to not know everything, to not be okay and to do what’s best for you.”
