Chrislyn Williams
Prevention Outreach Specialist
she/her
Chrislyn is the Prevention Program Coordinator at the Roper St. Francis Health Services Center. She conducts HIV testing and also has a case load of patients that are on PrEP. PrEP is a medication that can be taken daily to prevent the transmission of HIV. Chrislyn is also a member of the community outreach team and goes out to different health fairs and events to give information about the Roper St. Francis Health Services Center, HIV, HIV Prevention, STI’s, and STI Prevention - as well as conduct HIV testing. She currently has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Claflin University. Chrislyn enjoys working for the Roper St. Francis Health Services Center because, “we work as a team to ensure that our patients receive the best care possible. I enjoy the outreach events because I get the opportunity to tell the community about the great work that we do and I get to inform them about HIV and STI prevention.” In Chrislyn’s free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching TV and going out in nature. Chrislyn is a Charleston native - she left Charleston and went to TN for 5 years and decided to come back home. Chrislyn stumbled upon this job on Indeed and never thought that she would be working in this field. “I had my first interview with the Director, Dr. Tawana Philpott Brown and I just knew that I had to have this job. She embodies black excellence. I knew that I could learn so much from her. I love helping others and informing them about the importance of Prevention. Especially the younger generation. I have been employed at the Roper St. Francis Health Services Center for a year and 7 months.” The best advice that Chrislyn likes to give is to “empower you to step into your calling and move no matter what the world throws at you. Make a difference in the world. The community needs you.”
