Lauren Washington
LMSW
Outpatient Care Manager
she/her
Lauren manages a caseload of patients ensuring that they are educated about their diagnosis, adhere to their medical treatment plan, and serve as a supporting hand when needed. Also, she serves as an advocate for her patients and will refer them to any resources in the community that they need to make certain their needs are being met. Lauren is part of the Women’s Group in our clinic with a goal of empowering women struggling with their diagnosis by providing the opportunity to share personal experiences and feelings and developing appropriate coping skills. Lauren received a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Health Promotion from Charleston Southern University and Master's in Social Work from Walden University. She is currently licensed by the state of South Carolina as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). Lauren really enjoys helping my patients and serving as an advocate for them as someone they can depend on and states, “I love the positive work environment here”. In her free time, she loves spending time with friends, family, and poodle Oden along with relaxing on the couch with a good thriller book or watching the latest Netflix/Hulu show. Some values that drive Lauren’s work are social justice, dignity and worth of a person, and helping improve the lives of others. The best piece of advice Lauren’s been given comes from Matthew 6:34. “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
