Maya is one of the Health Services Center’s CMA that helps keep our clinic running smoothly. Her responsibilities include recording patient history and personal information, measure vital signs, such as blood pressure. Also, she helps physicians with patient examinations, gives patients injections or medications as directed. Maya is originally from Chicago, but her mother moved to Charleston to escape the snow. She graduated from Trident Tech with an associate in medical assisting. Working at our clinic diving into a new specialty to try, Maya most enjoys making a patient smile to help them get through their problems. In her free time, you will find Maya reading a good book! She is driven by compassion and kindness for others. The best piece of advice Maya has ever been given is, “having manners will take you places money never will”.
